Application Support Analyst

This role is part of the Applications Support team and focuses on monitoring, assessing, and evaluating application processes and data. The position involves analyzing system behavior, identifying inconsistencies, and recommending improvements to policies, procedures, or technical processes. The analyst works with established technical practices while developing an understanding of industry standards and related technologies.

The role contributes to the quality and reliability of application services used by the business. The impact is primarily within the team and closely related groups, with responsibilities centered on supporting systems and maintaining stable operating environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support applications by understanding support procedures and core technical areas related to system operations.
• Analyze system logic and evaluate existing processes to recommend and implement fixes or improvements.
• Define scope and objectives for system changes through research, fact finding, and documentation of requirements.
• Work closely with development teams and production support groups to address application issues.
• Participate in validation and testing activities for system updates and enhancements.
• Assess previous solutions and experiences to determine suitable approaches for situations not covered by standard procedures.
• Share information and ideas clearly with team members and relevant stakeholders.
• Perform additional duties as assigned while maintaining operational standards.
• Evaluate risk when making business decisions and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Requirements

• 0 to 2 years of experience or demonstrated interest in application support procedures and related technical areas.
• Exposure to process improvement initiatives is beneficial.
• Ability to work effectively in high pressure environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Understanding of banking applications and server infrastructure.
• Ability to collaborate with teams and communicate effectively.

Education: Bachelor’s or University degree, or equivalent practical experience.
