Overview
The Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting Operations Senior Specialist supports the execution of regulatory reporting processes. The role involves handling complex data preparation, validation, and documentation activities while following internal standards and regulatory data requirements. It includes performing defined control procedures and supporting pre and post submission checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of reporting.
The position also contributes to identifying issues, participating in root cause analysis, and assisting with governance activities through control testing and documentation. The specialist collaborates with cross functional partners to clarify data requirements, escalate findings, and help implement improvements across reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting and Execution
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of non-financial regulatory reports across different jurisdictions and products.
- Reconcile positions to confirm the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting.
- Investigate and resolve regulatory reporting issues and escalate complex cases when required.
- Support implementation of new or updated regulations through end to end testing and validation.
- Process Improvement and Projects
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce risk, and improve documentation.
- Act as a subject matter expert for regulatory reporting automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Prepare business requirements for system or operational enhancements.
- Stakeholder and Partner Engagement
- Work with partner teams such as Technology, Compliance, and Risk to resolve exceptions and clarify reporting needs.
- Maintain strong working relationships with cross functional teams.
- Communicate operational changes related to remediation or control enhancements to relevant stakeholders.
- Control and Documentation
- Execute pre and post submission control checks to maintain data quality and adherence to standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation for reporting processes and supporting evidence of controls.
- Support control activities including Manager's Control Assessment (MCA), audits, and procedure updates.
- Track and report key performance indicators and operational metrics.
- Assess risk during business decisions, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and ethical standards while protecting the organization and its clients.
Qualifications
- 0 to 2 years of experience in operations, preferably related to regulatory reporting.
- Experience with transactional regulatory reporting and operational processes is beneficial.
- Strong focus on data accuracy with analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and other data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with tools such as Xceptor, Alteryx, or AI prompt development is preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's or university degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
