Role Overview

The Issuer Services Department operates within Citi's broader Services Group. The department includes several units that support issuer services clients along with product and sales partners. Services provided include depository servicing, issuing and paying agency services, and specialized agency functions such as account bank, project finance, structured finance, and escrow agent services.

Typical Corporate Trust clients include large international and national corporations, financial institutions, banks, sovereign or public sector debt issuers, investment banks, asset managers, and independent collateral managers.

The Securities & Derivatives Analyst 1 is an entry-level role responsible for processing transactions received from internal business partners. The main objective is to support the clearance, settlement, and investigation of securities and derivatives related transactions for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle daily processing activities, including receiving and sorting incoming payments with close attention to accuracy.
• Ensure issuers are updated regarding their outstanding debts and key deadlines.
• Monitor and respond to client queries through shared group email channels.
• Work with Transaction Management and Cash Reconciliations teams when required.
• Support management in achieving departmental objectives.
• Respond promptly to operational requests and inquiries.
• Communicate effectively with team members, management, business partners, and clients.
• Assist with documenting operational procedures and internal processes.
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets and internal databases.
• Process payments and related accounting entries.
• Operate efficiently within strict deadlines.
• Prepare metrics and reports for weekly and monthly reporting.

Support for Senior Supervisor

• Assist with process improvements aimed at enhancing team efficiency and reducing operational risk.
• Escalate operational issues or potential concerns to the Senior Supervisor.
• Help develop and maintain operational procedures and control documentation.

Qualifications

• Relevant work experience is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities or projects in a high-risk operational environment.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication abilities.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or university qualification in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
