Overview
The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate-level role that participates in the design, development, and enhancement of application systems in collaboration with the technology team. The position focuses on contributing to system analysis, development activities, and programming tasks related to enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
- Use knowledge of application development practices and related technical areas to identify and define system enhancements.
- Analyze issues, propose recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Apply understanding of business processes, system workflows, and industry standards to address complex problems.
- Evaluate information and make informed judgments to recommend improvements and technical solutions.
- Perform testing and debugging activities, utilize scripting tools, and develop code based on design specifications.
- Review prior experiences and available options when handling situations not fully covered by standard procedures.
- Build familiarity with Citi information systems, standards, and processes including client server development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applications.
- Evaluate risk when making business decisions while protecting the organization’s reputation and assets. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, and escalate or report control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in software development or application programming.
- Exposure to programming and debugging for business applications.
- Working knowledge of industry practices and development standards.
- Understanding of business domains related to application development.
- Familiarity with programming languages used in enterprise applications.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent university qualification.
