Overview
The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level role responsible for supporting the development and enhancement of application systems. The position works closely with the technology team to help establish and implement new or updated programs. The main objective is to contribute to application system analysis and development activities.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of application development concepts and related technical areas to identify and define required system improvements.
- Investigate issues, perform analysis, recommend solutions, and assist in implementing fixes.
- Use understanding of business processes, system workflows, and industry standards to resolve complex problems.
- Evaluate information and make informed judgments to recommend enhancements and improvements.
- Perform testing and debugging tasks, use scripting tools, and write basic code based on design specifications.
- Review similar experiences and assess possible solutions in situations not covered by existing procedures.
- Develop familiarity with Citi information systems, standards, and processes including client server development, network operations, database administration, system administration, and data center operations.
- Assess risks appropriately while making business decisions, safeguard the organization and its clients, and ensure adherence to applicable laws, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- 0 to 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience with programming and debugging within business applications.
- Working understanding of industry practices and development standards.
- Knowledge of a specific business domain related to application development.
- Familiarity with programming languages used in application development.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent university qualification.
