Overview
The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate-level role responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of new or updated application systems in coordination with the Technology team. The position supports application system analysis and programming activities across projects.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of application development procedures and concepts to identify and define required system enhancements.
- Analyze issues, recommend solutions, and support implementation activities.
- Use understanding of business processes, system workflows, and industry practices to address complex technical problems.
- Review information, evaluate alternatives, and propose improvements to existing systems.
- Perform testing and debugging activities, utilize scripting tools, and write basic code based on design specifications.
- Assess similar past scenarios and evaluate options when situations are not clearly defined by procedures.
- Build working knowledge of Citi information systems, standards, and processes including client server application development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applications.
- Evaluate risk when making business decisions while protecting the firm’s reputation and assets. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations, and escalate or report control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with programming or debugging used in business applications.
- Working knowledge of industry standards and development practices.
- Understanding of a specific business domain related to application development.
- Familiarity with programming languages.
