The Customer Engagement and Experience function collaborates with Customer Success, Sales, Support, and engineering teams to deliver a consistent customer experience throughout the lifecycle. The role acts as a technical liaison between customer environments and Cisco product teams, sharing feedback that helps shape product improvements and ensure compatibility with real-world use cases.
Within solution delivery and technical execution, the engineer helps design, deploy, optimize, migrate, and troubleshoot security solutions that extend Cisco technologies and integrate with customer environments and third-party platforms. The role contributes to proactive issue resolution, supports both Cisco and partner technologies, and applies security frameworks, threat models, and regulatory standards to help customers build scalable and policy-aligned architectures.
What you will do
- Work on intermediate security initiatives, including implementation of core controls and policy configurations.
- Develop knowledge of a security domain and third-party security integrations, understanding how these technologies align with customer environments.
- Collaborate with multiple teams in a matrixed environment and contribute to cross-team project outcomes.
- Engage with customers, gradually taking more ownership in building and maintaining professional relationships.
- Participate in customer discussions to understand requirements and align project scope with expected outcomes.
- Evaluate customer security goals, risk posture, and compliance needs to identify underused capabilities and usage insights.
- Communicate project activities and connect them to outcomes such as performance, scalability, and functionality.
- Define project scope aligned to security goals while using AI and automation tools where appropriate.
- Use consulting methods such as risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and compliance mapping to support planning and delivery.
- Assist in preparing technical deliverables and improving documentation quality.
- Act as an initial point of contact for implementation or migration issues and communicate possible solutions to customers.
- Create and use test environments to troubleshoot problems while following standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
- Apply knowledge of Cisco and common security technologies including identity management, SIEM, and data loss prevention.
- Use automation, scripting, and orchestration with a foundational understanding of DevSecOps practices.
- Share updates and knowledge with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Document lessons learned and contribute reusable assets, templates, and best practices for the team.
- Use AI tools to automate routine tasks and stay informed on threat intelligence, compliance, and AI-driven security trends.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Customer Engineers, Cisco account teams, and partners to deliver solutions.
- Support team deliverables and contribute to mentoring junior or newer engineers on tools and development practices.
An entry level security certification such as Cisco CyberOps Associate or CompTIA Security+ is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with no prior experience.
