Your Impact

As a Machine Learning Engineer Intern, you will contribute to Cisco’s generative AI initiatives. The role involves building, training, and optimizing large language models and multimodal AI systems to address complex real world problems across industries.

You will work with engineering and product teams to develop scalable AI solutions, experiment with new approaches, and support research into emerging technologies. The work focuses on delivering AI capabilities that enhance Cisco products and improve customer experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

• Students expected to graduate in 2027.
• Programming experience in Java, C++, Python, or related languages.
• Hands on experience in natural language processing, computer vision, or multimodal interaction.
• Experience using deep learning frameworks to train, fine tune, and optimize generative AI models for performance and scalability.
• Exposure to building proof of concepts and production ready AI systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in system design, software development, and large scale production deployment.
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into practical deep learning solutions.
• Familiarity with modern AI approaches and models such as CLIP, DALLE 2, and diffusion models.
• Contributions to the AI or machine learning community through publications, open source work, or competitions.
