Calix Hiring Cybersecurity Graduate Trainee in Bangalore

In this role, you will work closely with the security engineering and threat intelligence teams to support the development, validation, and research of network intrusion detection capabilities. Your work will contribute to improving threat detection signatures, investigating emerging threats, and strengthening internal threat intelligence processes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with threat researchers and security engineers to analyze network-based attacks and develop detection logic.
• Perform packet-level analysis using PCAP files and tools such as Wireshark or Zeek.
• Assist with creating and testing detection signatures for IPS and NIDS systems.
• Support development of internal tools that improve research workflows and automation using Python.
• Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) research to identify emerging threats, indicators of compromise (IoCs), and attacker techniques.
• Help prepare technical documentation, threat reports, and operational playbooks.
• Participate in technical discussions during different stages of threat research and signature development.
• Assist in creating simulated attack scenarios to validate detection capabilities.

Qualifications

• Graduated or currently in the final year of a Bachelor's or Master's degree (2024 or 2025) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or Cyber Security.
• Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, the OSI model, and intrusion detection systems.
• Familiarity with cyber threat intelligence concepts, MITRE ATT&CK, and common malware delivery techniques.
• Programming knowledge, preferably Python, with the ability to automate analysis or build small utilities.
• Comfortable working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Exposure to tools such as Wireshark, Suricata, Snort, or tcpdump is an advantage.
• Coursework or practical experience in network security, packet analysis, or cybersecurity is desirable.
• Good documentation ability and strong research aptitude.
