Overview
The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level role that participates in building and enhancing application systems in coordination with the Technology team. The position contributes to application analysis, development, and programming tasks that support business operations.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of application development processes and basic understanding of other technical areas to identify and define required system improvements.
- Investigate and analyze issues, recommend appropriate solutions, and support implementation.
- Use knowledge of business processes, system workflows, and industry standards to address technical problems.
- Review information and make informed evaluations to suggest enhancements and solutions.
- Perform testing and debugging activities, use scripting tools, and write basic code according to design specifications.
- Evaluate similar technical scenarios and determine suitable options when procedures do not fully cover a situation.
- Develop familiarity with Citi information systems, standards, procedures, client server development, network operations, database administration, system administration, and data center operations.
- Assess risks when making business decisions while protecting Citi, its clients, and assets. Follow policies, applicable regulations, and maintain transparent reporting of control issues.
Qualifications
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with programming or debugging used in business applications.
- Working knowledge of industry practices and standards.
- Understanding of a specific business area related to application development.
- Familiarity with programming languages, including C++.
- Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal formats.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent university qualification.
