About the Role

As an Associate Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting software engineering activities that follow established processes and standards. You will contribute to building BT’s engineering strategy and roadmap, collaborating across teams that focus on innovation, technical delivery, and engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop logic for alarm handling and correlation
  • Create adapters to collect network fault/performance data using SNMP, Syslog, or Telemetry
  • Build scripts/adapters with Python and Shell scripting
  • Work independently and apply strong problem-solving skills
  • Deliver solutions using Agile methodologies
  • Perform in-depth technical analysis to achieve best outcomes
  • Ensure timely and high-quality software releases
  • Apply debugging and strong engineering practices
  • Work on Java, Kubernetes, Grafana, MySQL, Oracle, Graph DBs, and Python scripting
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues

Skills & Requirements

  • 0–3 years of relevant experience (freshers eligible)
  • Strong knowledge of Java (JDK 17)
  • Good understanding of Kubernetes and Docker
  • Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting
  • Experience with Apache Kafka, Rest API, Microservices, Spring Boot, WebLogic, ActiveMQ
  • Familiarity with Grafana, Kibana, GitLab runner
  • Knowledge of MySQL, Graph Databases, and related components
  • Experience working in Agile (Scrum) teams
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to handle real-time and batch data
  • Knowledge of Linux OS
