Backend Engineer at NTT DATA (New Delhi) | Full-Time Role

Role Overview

The Senior Associate Software Development Engineer supports the design, development, and testing of software systems, modules, and applications. The role contributes to enhancements and new product development, including cloud-based and internet-related solutions.

This position assists with detailed module design, prototype development for multi-vendor infrastructure, and demonstrations for internal teams or clients. The engineer works in a microservices environment using APIs, telemetry data, and ML or AI algorithms with both structured and unstructured data.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop software solutions and functionality that support business growth.
• Write and test application code and assist with automated testing processes.
• Participate in software deployment activities with guidance from stakeholders.
• Support delivery of software components in collaboration with product teams.
• Integrate and build solutions using automation and third‑party software tools.
• Assist in building and debugging large-scale distributed systems.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and operational procedures.
• Help refactor existing code and participate in peer code reviews.
• Perform additional related tasks as required.

Technical Requirements

• Understanding of cloud architecture and services across platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Office 365.
• Experience with programming languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and Node.js.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong debugging capabilities.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and API product development.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Understanding of container runtimes including Kubernetes, Docker, and LXC or LXD.
• Exposure to Agile and Lean development practices and test-driven development.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and cloud-based deployments.
• Ability to work with large datasets and apply ML or AI algorithms.

Academic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals or relevant Agile certifications are considered beneficial.

Experience

Moderate experience across the full software delivery lifecycle, including IDEs, source control, CI tools, testing, and defect tracking. Experience working with distributed teams and developing microservices and RESTful APIs in Agile or DevOps environments is expected.
