Verto is on a mission to democratise global finance and empower businesses in emerging markets to reach the world. Role Overview
As an Associate Software Engineer, you will begin by mastering our products and technology through a hands-on role in production support, ensuring platform stability. You will also have opportunities to contribute to cross-stack development across cloud, backend, and UI. This role serves as a launchpad into a core development position with a clear path for career growth based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Participate in an intensive rotational training program across engineering squads.
- Take ownership of production support, diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on complex technical challenges.
- Contribute to tech operations and process improvements for enhanced reliability.
- Demonstrate technical and problem-solving skills to advance into a software engineer role within 12-18 months.
Requirements
- 0-1 years of professional or internship experience in software development.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles; JavaScript/TypeScript experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Resilience under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to web technologies such as NodeJS or Angular.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS.
- Knowledge of the fintech industry.
- Contributions to personal or open-source projects.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies.

Interview Process
