About the Role

The Associate Engineer plays a vital role in delivering hardware, configuration, and fiber connectivity for large-scale projects across multiple client locations. This position involves managing network capacity, resolving service delivery issues, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely and quality deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage platform-specific capacity plans to meet forecast demand.
  • Address process issues related to deployed platforms.
  • Collaborate with Associate Network Planners and Technical Delivery Managers.
  • Implement planning rules at device and network levels.
  • Analyze global bid requirements and provide solutions.
  • Support service delivery by resolving build function issues.
  • Build and configure network components based on detailed design documentation.
  • Manage orders to meet KPIs including agreed RFS dates and Right First Time measures.
  • Lead specific project deployments and report progress to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and field engineering teams for global deployments adhering to BT’s safety and engineering standards.
  • Maintain and update the Global POP Information Database (GPID) post-deployment.
  • Proactively prevent issues by monitoring workstack and escalating concerns.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, capturing business benefits.
  • Develop expertise in a specialist lead role and provide training to the wider team.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of networks, infrastructure, and network management systems.
  • Familiarity with global network suppliers such as Cisco, Juniper, Ericsson, Ciena, Huawei, and Nortel.
  • Experience in process-driven workflow environments.
  • Understanding of BT’s global networks and technologies.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
