Overview
Job Summary
Work independently or support the Test Engineer in leading and coordinating Test Technicians and Debug Technicians for a specific workcell. Maintain records of preventive maintenance activities to meet ISO requirements and support new project or equipment setup to achieve workcell goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electronic circuit board assemblies at component level while minimizing engineering and component hold quantities.
- Use electronic test and measurement equipment effectively.
- Interpret assembly documentation including schematics, BOMs, visuals, debug procedures, testing tools, and related processes.
- Support diagnostic process yield goals with focus on non-product failures.
- Assist the Test Engineering team with data evaluation programs to improve diagnostic efficiency.
- Support installation and development of new NPI projects.
- Perform periodic preventive maintenance to reduce failures and downtime.
- Follow production rules, policies, procedures, WIP compliance, and 3-5-10 requirements.
- Prepare reports and recommend technical solutions when needed.
- Support customer interactions, including travel for advanced diagnostic issues.
- Conduct test processes such as In-Circuit Test, software download, Functional Test, Burn In, HASS, Soak Testing, ESS, and X-Ray testing.
- Lead and guide test technicians supporting production lines.
- Maintain test equipment to ensure minimum downtime.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for maintenance and calibration activities.
- Manage spare parts inventory to reduce production impact caused by machine downtime.
- Set up test equipment for new projects and business requirements.
- Contribute to cost reduction through automation and process simplification.
- Inspect incoming test fixtures and jigs before release to production.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new developments.
- Provide quotations for testing, diagnostic, and repair functions.
- Review test processes and identify untested components.
- Create and maintain documentation for testers, programmers, and debug or repair processes.
- Support improvements in test yields, efficiency, and tester development.
- Train Test Technicians, Debug Technicians, Operators, and Component Programmers.
- Investigate new diagnosis and testing methods to support evolving technologies.
- Ensure controls comply with ISO standards.
- Troubleshoot and analyze units that cannot be repaired by Debug Technicians.
Knowledge Requirements
- Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from managers, customers, and clients.
- Knowledge of problem solving, data collection, and analysis.
- Experience working with Windows-based operating systems and related software.
- Advanced PC skills and familiarity with software tools.
- Ability to read and understand technical instructions and documentation.
- Basic mathematical and graph interpretation skills.
