Overview
Software Engineer
Akamai is looking for a Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and building scalable software solutions. The role involves contributing to the development of next generation technologies that improve efficiency through automation.
You will work within the IT DevOps Engineering team, collaborating with cross functional teams and business units to deliver reliable applications, products, and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain applications that support internal stakeholders.
- Write scalable, maintainable code following established engineering standards and practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application related issues as they arise.
- Work with system operators and other teams to analyze and understand new requirements.
- Handle multiple tasks and respond to urgent technical situations when needed.
- Continue learning and applying new technologies during development work.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with 0 to 3 years of experience.
- Strong understanding of object oriented programming concepts.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software design principles, and databases.
- Familiarity with at least one object oriented programming language such as Ruby, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Good written and verbal communication abilities.
