Job Description
The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international initiative supported by the French Ministries of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Economy and Finance, and Ecological Transition. Through this program, Airbus offers young professionals the opportunity to gain paid work experience abroad in technical or business functions.
This position is offered under the VIE contract and follows the eligibility rules defined by Business France. The assignment duration is 12 months.
A VIE opportunity for Manufacturing Engineering Support is available within Airbus Helicopters, working with the H125 Final Assembly Line (FAL) team in India. The role provides hands-on exposure to the helicopter assembly process and supports operational efficiency and quality initiatives during the setup of a new facility.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Support Manufacturing Engineers in preparing, updating, and improving assembly work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Take part in shop floor analysis to identify and address technical or quality issues during assembly activities.
- Monitor and report key production indicators such as cycle time and non‑conformity rates, and assist in improving material flow.
- Coordinate with the Supply Chain team to support just-in-time delivery of parts and track material shortages.
- Assist with implementing digital tools and SQCDP performance tracking based on operational requirements.
The role may involve business travel within India as part of project and operational activities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Initial exposure to manufacturing, operations, or engineering, including internships or apprenticeships.
- Basic understanding of helicopter structures, Lean manufacturing concepts, and the interpretation of technical drawings or 3D models.
- Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with manufacturing or design tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a live manufacturing environment with strong analytical thinking.
- Advanced level of English for professional communication.
