Job Description
Airbus is looking for a Loads and Aeroelastics Engineer to support the delivery of loads and aeroelasticity solutions across the aircraft lifecycle, from development activities through in‑service support.
Key Responsibilities
- Model and simulate aircraft aerodynamics, inertia, structural flexibility, landing gear behaviour, control systems, and flight mechanics. This work contributes to calculating and analysing external loads on the aircraft including manoeuvres, turbulence, landing impacts, and ground handling.
- Perform detailed modelling and analysis of aircraft structural dynamics to ensure the aircraft remains free from flutter and other aeroelastic effects across its operational envelope.
- Produce loads and aeroelasticity documentation and datasets required for safe aircraft structural dimensioning and certification, meeting defined time, cost, and quality expectations.
- Provide technical recommendations related to aircraft design, development processes, emerging technologies, and operational considerations in the loads and aeroelasticity domain.
- Apply relevant quality assurance practices including lessons learned, continuous improvement actions, and adherence to established quality gates.
- Support airline customers through Airbus Customer Services by performing loads and aeroelasticity analyses for in‑service events.
- Contribute to in‑service support activities by troubleshooting issues within the loads and aeroelasticity design office environment for development, production flight tests, and operational aircraft.
- Respond to engineering queries and participate as an on‑call engineer for loads in‑service support when required.
Technical Expertise
- Knowledge of flight mechanics and aerodynamics fundamentals.
- Understanding of structural dynamics and control theory.
- Programming exposure in MATLAB or Python is considered beneficial.
A bachelor's or master's degree in aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline is expected.
The role requires awareness of compliance considerations and a commitment to act with integrity, supporting the company’s reputation and sustainable growth. Airbus promotes an inclusive workplace and encourages applications from individuals of all backgrounds.
