Job Description

The 3M Commercial Solutions segment, part of the Commercial Branding and Transportation Division, delivers comprehensive products and solutions so customers can deliver a consistent brand identity across verticals such as banking, rail, fleet, facilities and other key touch points, creating a memorable brand experience.

The business delivers total graphic solutions that provide high impact message consistency along with reliability and durability. Built on 3M's tradition of innovation and technological know-how, 3M Graphics Markets offers flexible, creative and technologically advanced branding solutions that give brand owners premium visibility. Its wide range of colored and printable film solutions helps brand owners build a compelling value story backed by sustainability, reliability and the brand promise.

The Commercial Solutions segment offers training and services to help customers and channel partners use and convert 3M products effectively. Channel partners deliver solutions backed by a 3M warranty to the end customer. 3M also connects with end users and influencers to help them select the right product solutions. An Application Engineer helps customers and the sales team recommend the appropriate product based on customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Develop an in-depth understanding of 3M's offerings and use that knowledge to help achieve division objectives.
• Meet brand owners, channel partners and end customers, guide them to the right product, and generate specifications so they can procure the appropriate material.
• Lead technical engagement with key customers and channel partners.
• Track market trends and collaborate with internal teams on new product ideas, technology and product development.
• Travel domestically.
• Work at customer locations and sites.
• Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn, and work as a team player with 3M employees and channel partners.

Qualifications

A graduate or postgraduate, preferably with a background in Polymer Science, Chemistry or Materials Science, with the following qualities:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of self-adhesive films, polymer chemistry and formulations.
• Product development and lab testing skills, with familiarity with the new product commercialization process.
• Strong planning and organization skills.
• Ability to understand technical subject matter or willingness to learn.
• Proficiency with PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and related software programs.
