Job Description

Medpace is expanding its corporate operations and is seeking a full-time, office-based Junior Data Engineer to join the Information Technology team in Navi Mumbai. The role involves collaborating with team members on technical tasks and projects that support company operations and data initiatives.

This position provides an opportunity to apply existing technical knowledge while continuing to develop skills and advance within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Work with technologies related to data warehousing, business intelligence, and databases including Snowflake, ANSI SQL, SQL Server, and T-SQL.
• Support programming and development activities using ETL and ELT tools such as dbt, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS.
• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain business intelligence solutions primarily using Microsoft Power BI.
• Gather, analyze, and document user and business requirements.
• Participate in software validation processes by developing, reviewing, or executing test plans, cases, and scripts.
• Develop software applications following the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, release, and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate with team members regarding projects, tools, development practices, and procedures.
• Provide end-user support including application setup, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Internship experience in data engineering or software engineering.
• Understanding of dimensional data modeling and familiarity with the advantages and limitations of Star Schema and Snowflake schema designs.
• Knowledge of ETL development and reporting with an understanding of business processes and performance metrics.
• Familiarity with Snowflake cloud data warehouse, Fivetran data integration, and dbt transformations is preferred.
• Knowledge of Python is preferred.
• Understanding of REST APIs.
• Basic knowledge of SQL Server databases is required.
• Experience with C# or Azure development is considered a plus.
• Strong analytical abilities along with effective written and verbal communication skills.
