Role Overview
The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate-level position that participates in building and enhancing application systems and programs in collaboration with the Technology team. The objective is to support application system analysis and programming activities while contributing to development and improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of application development procedures and technical concepts to identify and define system enhancements.
- Investigate issues, analyze root causes, recommend solutions, and implement fixes.
- Use understanding of business processes, system workflows, and industry practices to address complex technical problems.
- Evaluate information and provide recommendations for improvements and optimized solutions.
- Perform testing and debugging activities, utilize scripting tools, and write code aligned with design specifications.
- Review prior solutions and experiences to determine the best approach when procedures do not directly apply.
- Develop working knowledge of Citi's technology environment including client server application development, database administration, network operations, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applications.
- Evaluate risk during business decisions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations while safeguarding the organization, its clients, and assets.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with programming and debugging used in business applications.
- Familiarity with common industry standards and development practices.
- Understanding of a specific business area related to application development.
- Working knowledge of programming languages.
- Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal formats.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent university qualification.
