Technology – Application Development Analyst Program

At Citi, technology teams work to drive change and support platforms that deliver services to clients worldwide. The organization includes more than 30,000 technologists who focus on building scalable and efficient systems while applying innovation and automation to improve the client experience.

The Global Technology Analyst Program is a two year rotational program designed to accelerate development in the technology domain. The program begins in July and provides exposure to multiple teams, helping participants broaden their technical capabilities and gain experience across different technology functions.

Program Overview

Participants work in an agile software development environment to build high quality and scalable software solutions using modern technologies. Based on business requirements, analysts develop code aligned with quality standards and assist with testing cycles and post production deployment.

Responsibilities include testing and debugging code using appropriate tools, ensuring defect free development, and participating in peer code reviews. New hires join a cohort and complete training to understand Citi's technology platforms, development processes, and internal tools.

Technology Exposure

Depending on team placement, analysts may work with a variety of development technologies and frameworks, including:

• Microservices Development: Java, Spring Framework, Pivotal Cloud Foundry
• iOS Development: Swift, Xcode, MVC architecture
• Android Development: Java, Android Studio, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, Java Web Services
• Web Development: Angular, Eclipse, Java, JSP, TypeScript, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX

Engineering Practices and Tools

• Engineering excellence standards including development and operational best practices
• Modern software design patterns and architectures such as Microservices, APIs, REST, and Spring Core or Spring Boot frameworks
• CI/CD pipelines and development tools including JIRA, Zephyr, BitBucket, TeamCity, uDeploy, Artifactory, and OpenShift
• Event streaming or messaging technologies such as Kafka
• Container based environments using Docker or Kubernetes
