About the Role
Mastercard is hiring for a BizOps Engineer I within the Business Operations (BizOps) team in our Pune office. This role is part of a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) group that ensures the stability and health of Mastercard platforms. As a BizOps Engineer, you'll work to embed operational excellence within the software development process and promote proactive engagement during the software lifecycle. This includes monitoring, automation, capacity planning, and system design consultation to build resilient, scalable, fault-tolerant systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Implement SRE principles and contribute to evolving site reliability practices
- Collaborate with product and platform teams to define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Indicators (SLIs)
- Monitor system reliability and performance to ensure adherence to SLOs
- Communicate system health metrics and concerns with relevant stakeholders
- Promote operational best practices throughout the software development lifecycle
- Automate manual tasks and develop tools to enhance operational efficiency
- Participate in on-call rotations and perform incident response and post-mortem analysis
- Contribute to system design discussions and architecture reviews to embed reliability considerations
- Provide mentorship and share SRE best practices across the team
- Drive continuous improvement through proactive monitoring and feedback loops
- Support governance, risk mitigation, and compliance efforts across environments
Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- Equivalent practical experience may be considered
Eligible Batch
- Graduation Year: 2023, 2024, and 2025
Desired Qualifications
- Foundational understanding of DevOps practices and distributed systems
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to collaborate across functions and take initiative in technical discussions
- Experience with automation tools, observability platforms, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
- Certifications related to cloud platforms or automation tools are desirable
