Position Overview
We are seeking an Associate Software Engineer I to join our team in a hybrid role based in Chennai, India. This position focuses on developing and enhancing the Blackboard LMS platform, which enables learners and instructors to engage in online education anytime, anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within an agile development team, participating in daily stand-ups, design discussions, code reviews, and sprint demos.
- Develop scalable web and mobile solutions using React, HTML, and CSS.
- Apply test-driven development practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and maintain cloud-based applications, addressing production issues promptly.
- Work across the full technology stack to implement new features and resolve bugs.
Required Qualifications
- Basic experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable software applications.
- Familiarity with React, HTML, CSS, and web application development.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Exposure to unit and integration testing practices.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithm design.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Java stack and SQL databases.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud hosting solutions.
