Amazon is inviting applications for its exclusive 6-month internship program under the University Talent Acquisition initiative for 2025. This program is aimed at engineering students looking to launch their careers in operations and supply chain management through hands-on leadership experience.

As part of the Operations Manager I Job Family, interns will be placed into one of the following roles based on business needs:


Available Roles

Area Manager (Fulfillment or Sort Centers)

You will lead and manage day-to-day operations on the floor, with a strong focus on performance, safety, and quality.
Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising hourly associates and process assistants
  • Walking extensively across the site to conduct audits, ensure process adherence
  • Driving continuous improvement using Kaizen and 5S
  • Managing inventory quality and productivity metrics
  • Conducting site review meetings and driving actionables
  • Collaborating with stakeholders in HR, Safety, Loss Prevention, and Quality

Operations Manager (Customer & Seller Fulfillment)

This role focuses on reducing defects, analyzing customer data, and developing operating models.
Responsibilities include:

  • Shadowing senior managers and running independent shifts
  • Analyzing transportation/supply chain for performance bottlenecks
  • Reducing financial leakage in partnership workflows
  • Improving third-party seller performance and returns experience
  • Handling contact reduction and concessions optimization
  • Driving key performance and quality metrics across departments

Station Manager (Delivery Stations)

Focused on last-mile delivery operations, you will manage citywide logistics performance.
Responsibilities include:

  • Defining FC-to-delivery station logistics processes
  • Supporting routing and delivery optimization
  • Managing station supervisors and mentoring staff
  • Driving process control improvements using Kaizen
  • Performing data-driven audits and performance enhancements
  • Standing/walking extensively within the delivery station

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own operational metrics across one function in Fulfillment/Supply Chain/Delivery
  • Lead, coach, and develop Process Assistants and associates
  • Drive process improvement initiatives using Six Sigma/Lean
  • Collaborate with functional heads in HR, Finance, Engineering, IT, and Safety
  • Implement best practices and performance standards across shifts
  • Build scalable workforce plans and quality benchmarks
  • Work on rotational shifts including weekends and nights as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or coursework in supply chain management and production control
  • Hands-on knowledge of Excel functions including Macros and Lookups
  • Understanding of Lean tools and Kaizen methods
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities

Technical Skills: Excel, Macros, VLOOKUP, supply chain management fundamentals, production planning, control techniques, Kaizen, LEAN methodology, data analysis, project management

  • This internship is by invite only
  • Candidates must be flexible with work shifts (may include night shifts and non-traditional weekends)
  • Physical presence and on-ground involvement are core parts of the role
