About the Role

As part of S&P's ESG team, you will develop and maintain accurate, complete and timely data sets while taking into account the business division's global interests and needs, both internally and externally.

As a Research Analyst, you will support the integrity and comprehensiveness of the data set by using internal and external public research sources such as government and regulatory documents, stock exchanges, CSR reports, industry journals, analyst reports, information databases and internal research tools to collect, summarize and synthesize meaningful information.

You will gain exposure to reports across covered industries while interacting frequently with global analysts to learn industry dynamics and build a collaborative work culture.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a newly established, growing team
• Gain valuable insights on upcoming ESG trends
• Build advancement opportunities and personal development using best-in-class ESG methodology
• Gather, process and analyze data for Business Involvement Screening and ESG
• Deliver individual and team targets with quality and on time completion
• Develop a good understanding of ESG concepts, Negative Screening, ESG research methodologies and trends
• Work within set parameters and under supervision to meet quality and performance standards
• Coordinate with stakeholders to understand and build the content
• Keep up to date with content sets and industry trends and reporting standards
• Train subsequent batches that will be part of the Business Involvement Screening and ESG data set
• Provide input and ideas for new collection methods and product improvements for covered content sets
• Troubleshoot problems and support the team
• Perform UAT/BRT testing on workflow tools and data flowing to the product
• Take part in calls with management and clients

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent; an advanced degree in a related field is welcome
• Prior exposure to ESG, corporate sustainability or related domains is desirable; industry-specific or sustainability-topic expertise is an advantage
• Familiarity with AI concepts, including applications of Large Language Models (LLMs) in research, analysis and document interpretation
• Ability to use AI/LLM tools for text summarization, data extraction and content validation
• Ability to interpret documents such as articles, bylaws, prospectuses, annual reports, sustainability reports and codes of conduct
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts; ability to multitask and work in a team environment with a flexible schedule to meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and a persistent approach to work
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Very high proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication, editorial and proofreading skills
• Initiative and resourcefulness
• Knowledge of, and keen interest in learning, existing and emerging sustainability topics
• Agile mindset for collaborative coordination
• Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, with a positive, "can do" attitude
