Roles and Responsibilities

As a Backend Intern at Wysa, you will be part of a fast-growing team that builds and scales impactful features for a global mental health product.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable backend code.
• Participating in the entire application lifecycle to develop new features.
• Building modular and reusable components with performance in mind.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and fix bugs.
• Conducting code reviews and offering feedback for code improvements.
• Enhancing the stability, scalability, and performance of the backend systems.
• Being user-centric and contributing to product-related decisions.
• Adhering to security, privacy, and compliance protocols.
• Following best practices in secure software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all information and assets.

Eligibility Criteria

Education Required: Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any related discipline.

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Experience with backend development using Node.js or Python
• Familiarity with mobile-first and responsive design principles
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail

Preferred Skills

• Experience with MongoDB or similar database systems
• Knowledge of RESTful API design
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
• Understanding of Agile development practices
• Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional and leadership teams
