Roles and Responsibilities
As a Backend Intern at Wysa, you will be part of a fast-growing team that builds and scales impactful features for a global mental health product.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable backend code.
- Participating in the entire application lifecycle to develop new features.
- Building modular and reusable components with performance in mind.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and fix bugs.
- Conducting code reviews and offering feedback for code improvements.
- Enhancing the stability, scalability, and performance of the backend systems.
- Being user-centric and contributing to product-related decisions.
- Adhering to security, privacy, and compliance protocols.
- Following best practices in secure software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all information and assets.
Eligibility Criteria
Education Required: Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any related discipline.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience with backend development using Node.js or Python
- Familiarity with mobile-first and responsive design principles
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- Experience with MongoDB or similar database systems
- Knowledge of RESTful API design
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
- Understanding of Agile development practices
- Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional and leadership teams
