About the Role
Jump Trading is offering an intensive 10-week Software Engineering Internship at its Mumbai office. As an intern, you will work directly with our core development team to design, code, test, and maintain highly distributed, low-latency trading systems. This hands-on internship is designed to replicate the experience of a full-time software engineer at Jump.

You will learn to build high-performance infrastructure, work on real production-ready projects, and participate in the complete software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies. You’ll receive direct mentorship from senior engineers and engage in collaborative problem-solving sessions with teammates.

This program is a key pipeline for identifying future full-time hires. Candidates should be interested in returning to Mumbai to join Jump Trading full-time after graduation.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on real-world, production-level projects within a collaborative Agile environment
• Design, implement, and test software components with a focus on performance and reliability
• Sharpen your C++ programming skills while learning about low-latency and high-throughput systems
• Participate in daily stand-ups, code reviews, and continuous integration cycles
• Learn how various systems interact – from OS internals and networking to application-level performance tuning

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong proficiency in C++ (experience with Linux preferred)
• Solid understanding of data structures, threading models, and system architecture
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environments
• Passion for solving complex engineering problems and building from the ground up
• Eagerness to explore areas such as hardware, networking, and OS-level optimization
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Reliable and consistent work availability throughout the internship period

Preferred but Not Required

• Prior internship or work experience in a software development role
• Advanced coursework in algorithms, compilers, OS, or network programming
