About the Role
Goldman Sachs is hiring talented software engineers to join the Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) Engineering team within its Global Banking & Markets division. As a Software Engineering Associate, you will be part of the Credit Systematic Market Making (SMM) Engineering team, which sits at the intersection of automated pricing, trader interfaces, and client flows.

This team plays a key role in advancing the electronification of the Fixed Income market by building high-performance, scalable systems that support real-time trading and execution services. You will collaborate with global teams, solve complex engineering problems, and help shape the future of institutional finance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop distributed real-time trading systems for the FICC Credit Trading business
  • Modernize and enhance existing systems into scalable microservices with minimal disruption
  • Collaborate with global teams to deliver business-critical software solutions
  • Understand system architecture and trading flows to build resilient infrastructure

Required Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline


Batch Eligibility
Candidates from the batches of 2022, 2023, and 2024 are eligible to apply


Basic Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Java programming concepts
  • Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems and/or networking fundamentals
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building real-time distributed systems
  • Proficiency in multi-threaded and concurrent programming
  • Familiarity with low-latency messaging, network protocols, and Java network I/O
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Understanding of financial markets is a plus
