Job Description

As a Data Scientist – Artificial Intelligence at IBM Consulting’s Client Innovation Center in Bangalore, you will help deliver intelligent AI-driven solutions to both public and private sector clients. You will work on cutting-edge technologies, including generative AI and large language models (LLMs), to create scalable and efficient solutions aligned with business needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and technical teams to co-create AI value using platforms like Watsonx, AWS Sagemaker, and Azure OpenAI
• Design, architect, and deploy AI solutions using foundation models and large language models
• Develop proof of concepts (POCs) and prototypes to demonstrate solution feasibility
• Build rapid AI-powered tools for tasks like code refactoring and documentation (e.g., COBOL to Java)
• Document architecture, design decisions, implementation practices, and technical findings
• Stay updated on trends in AI, LLMs, and NLP and continuously evaluate emerging tools
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience using AI/ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Hugging Face
• Familiarity with Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn, and other data manipulation and visualization tools
• Working experience with cloud platforms (Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Exposure to COBOL and Java development environments
• Experience using AI code assistants like Amazon CodeWhisperer, GitHub Copilot
• Knowledge of code generation, translation, and LLM-based code analysis
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Curiosity-driven mindset with a commitment to continuous learning

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Experience with NLP, text analytics, and deep learning model training
• Participation in open-source projects or AI/ML research publications
• Background in delivering full AI project lifecycles—from prototype to production deployment
• Experience using PySpark for large-scale data processing
