About the Role
FOX Tech is seeking an enthusiastic Android Intern (Video Playback Engineering) to join our team. This internship is a hands-on opportunity to work on Android video playback experiences for both live and on-demand streaming. You will be part of a team solving real-world media delivery challenges, contributing to Android player features, and learning adaptive bitrate streaming and protocols like HLS and DASH.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building smooth Android video playback experiences for live and VOD streams
• Write clean, efficient Kotlin/Java code for SDKs and sample apps
• Collaborate on improving internal developer tools
• Debug and resolve performance and ANR issues across Android devices
• Participate in testing and feature development with senior engineers
• Learn and grow within a collaborative, inclusive environment

Required Technical Skills: Kotlin, Java, Android Studio, Gradle, Git, ExoPlayer, Media3, HLS, DASH, H.264, HEVC, AV1, JNI, C++, FFmpeg

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience with ExoPlayer, Media3, or media frameworks
• Exposure to adaptive streaming protocols or video codecs
• Familiarity with JNI or C++ for high-performance modules
• Personal or academic projects related to media apps, live video, or computer vision overlays
