About the Role

Amgen is hiring an Associate Full Stack Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality software applications that address complex business needs. As part of the development team, you will work alongside senior engineers and cross-functional teams including product managers and designers. This role involves both front-end and back-end development responsibilities and requires a strong foundation in cloud technologies and modern software practices.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers in the design and development of full stack software projects from conception to deployment
  • Contribute to both front-end and back-end development using modern cloud technologies
  • Support the management of software delivery scope, risk, and project timelines
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for architecture, design, deployment, and operations
  • Support in identifying and resolving technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks
  • Build applications, modules, and enhancements including custom reports and interfaces
  • Execute unit tests, integration tests, and other quality assurance procedures
  • Ensure smooth and efficient operation of deployed applications through maintenance and support
  • Suggest and explore innovative solutions using generative AI and other cutting-edge technologies
  • Integrate systems to ensure seamless data flow and cross-platform functionality
  • Stay updated with emerging trends in technology and software engineering

Required Skills

  • Full Stack development experience
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL, NoSQL
  • Knowledge of serverless computing and microservices architecture
  • API integration experience
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of website development and localization processes
  • Awareness of cloud design principles and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Exposure to monitoring/logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk
  • Working knowledge of data processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, CompTIA Network+, MCSE) are a plus
  • Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and handle shift work

Shift Information

This role may require working in later hours and could include second or third shift schedules based on business needs. Candidates must be open to working evening or night shifts as required.
