Job Description

  • Coordinates and supervises electrical pre-commissioning, start-up / commissioning and testing activities of suppliers and subcontractors in terms of safety, quality, schedule, compliance with specification, approved commissioning procedures and drawings, relevant codes and standard and completeness of scope.

  • Monitors and inspects electrical commissioning activities in his/her area of responsibility and develops and implements improvement measures when and where required.

  • Coordinates with other disciplines to ensure there will be no internal scope gap.

  • Identifies, analyzes and resolves technical issues in own area of responsibility including interfaces to other areas / disciplines.

  • Checks, verifies and ensures that the drawings and other documents being used by electrical commissioning suppliers, subcontractors and his/her team are the latest AFC (Approved for Construction) revision.

  • Provides technical guidance to suppliers, subcontractors and his team in interpretation of drawings, procedures and other document relevant for electrical commissioning activities.

  • Evaluates suitability, efficiency and productivity of suppliers’ and subcontractors’ commissioning equipment and work force.

  • Analyzes and prepares plans for commissioning tools, equipment and consumable material requisitions and coordinates with suppliers and subcontractors or procurement group accordingly.

  • Coordinates the interfaces between suppliers and subcontractors and Company’s engineering and procurement team with the aim to ensure adherence to commissioning schedule.

  • Prepares and updates site procedures and temporary drawings as required.

  • Keeps track of and proper records for possible claim items.

  • Drafts written correspondence for internal and external project correspondence.

  • Prepares daily reports as well as input for internal and external progress reports.

  • Performs any other tasks as delegated or requested by line or project superior.

Job Roles & Responsibilities

  • Supervising and coordinating electrical commissioning activities in his / her area of responsibility with the objective to ensure that all electrical commissioning results are in line with and / or in support of the overall project objectives and targets, including quality, safety, time schedule and budget.

  • Leading and guiding concerned suppliers, subcontractors and his own team.

  • Pro-actively guiding, monitoring and supporting electrical commissioning and erection suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specific HSE and QA/QC requirements.

  • Communicating and coordinating his/her activities directly to / with COMM and other concerned disciplines (internal and external).

  • Communicating and coordinating any techno-commercial matters to / with COMM, as soon as such matters arise or become known.

  • Taking a pro-active role in supporting Company’s management of techno-commercial claims

  • Making himself/herself particularly knowledgeable of :

    • project-specific HSE requirements and standards. 

    • project-specific QA/QC requirements and standards.  

    • project-specific contractual requirements for start-up / commissioning and testing.

    • project-specific commissioning processes and procedures.

    • project-specific baseline project time schedule.

    • project-specific detailed schedules.

    • project-specific site processes, procedures and deliverables.

    • Company's -internal approval processes and procedures.

  • Establishing a positive relationship with customer / partners / suppliers and subcontractors.

Position Details

  • Industry Segment:  Thermal Power Plant - Commissioning

  • Reporting To:  Commissioning Manager (COMM)

  • Candidate Pre-Qualification:  Candidate should have worked on commissioning activities of a Thermal power plant having capacity more than 100 MW

  • Employment Type:  Full-Time Contract
